Azure Databricks, Industry-Leading Analytics Platform Powered by Apache Spark

Microsoft announced the general availability of this new service that enables collaborative analytics on the companies Azure cloud service.

Azure Databricks is based on Apache Spark, an open source standard for analytics, machine learning, and AI. This service will allow Azure customers use Big Data and AI to build out applications and analytics feeds to create solutions in their business area.

Expanding MongoDB Atlas Availability on GCP

Due to its rising popularity with Google Cloud users, the MongoDB service has been added to several new regions around the world plus on Google's Cloud Launcher service.

According to Google, MongoDB has been downloaded on the GCP more than 35 million times and is used by companies such as UPS, Cisco, and Metlife. They also added that it is one of the most popular noSQL databases for developers and enterprise users.

MongoDB can be configured to scale globally across several regions to insure the availability of your critical data.

Introducing the New Intelligence-Driven Digital Workspace

This new platform from VMware brings together workspace capabilities that include features such as:

- A new intelligence-driven digital workspace powered by Workspace ONE Intelligence.
- A modern approach to digital workspace security with Workspace ONE Trust Network.
- New co-management of Windows 10 devices with Workspace ONE AirLift.
- New Workspace ONE edition that provides increased customer value.

VMware believes this service will provide an improved user experience, optimize resources, and increase your security and compliance.

Microsoft Support Content Updates Feed Builder

Microsoft has undertaken a massive reorganization of their support and documentation portals recently but one thing that was lost in that process was easy access to changes and updates to these areas via standard RSS feeds.

Well the company recently added a new form that allows you to build your own customized feeds, either in RSS or ATOM formats, so that you can stay up to date on support and documentation changes for all of their products and services.

Unfortunately, you can only have one product per feed you create but if you have an RSS reader then you should be able to consolidate all of these individual product feeds in that for easy reading of all the new announcements.

Windows Server 2019 Preview Now Available

This week Microsoft made the first preview of their next version of Windows Server available to Windows Insiders for Business participants. Note: You can sign up to become a Business Insider very quickly using your organizational account or a Microsoft Account.

Windows Server 2019 is expected to become generally available later this year and will support organizations with on-premises hardware and those working in hybrid cloud setups.

When it is released, Windows Server 2019 will be designated as the next release in the Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC).

Helping G Suite Customers Stay Secure With New Proactive Phishing Protections and Management Controls

This week Google announced updates that provide their Google Cloud customers with more granular control over their security around G Suite.

Four key areas are getting new capabilities:

- New advanced anti-phishing capabilities
- Default-on mobile device management
- Increased visibility and insights to monitor for potential threats
- Built-in protections and controls for Team Drives

The phishing and mobile management options are available across all G Suite versions right now and the Team Drives features will arrive in the next few weeks. G Suite Enterprise customers can access the security center in their Admin console.
