JSI Tip 7803. When activating your Windows 2000 Terminal Services Licensing Server, you receive 'The licensing wizard can not connect to the licensing server registry'?

When you attempt to activate your Terminal Services Licensing Server, you receive:

Licensing Wizard
The licensing wizard can not connect to the licensing server registry.
Check your network connection and then try again
Message 0x35.

This error will occur if the Remote Registry Service is NOT started on the Terminal Services Licensing Server.

To resolve this problem:

1. On the Terminal Services Licensing Server, use Start / Run / Services.msc / OK.

2. Right click Remote Registry and press Properties.

3. Set the Startup type to Manual if the Start button is dimmed.

4. Press Apply.

5. Press Start.

6. Press OK.
