Matching branch versions between Configuration Manager and Windows 10

Q. Will I need the corresponding branch of System Center Configuration Manager to manage Windows?

A. Windows 10 will receive new functionality through updates throughout the year, the Current Branch. To be able to manage the new features fully you will need to be on the corresponding branch of System Center Configuration Manager. For example if there is a Windows 10 drop in July of 2016 you would need 1607 branch of System Center Configuration Manager to fully manage it.
