Hotfix to Increase Azure Backup Data Source Storage Size Limits Available

If you've been experiencing issues transferring data volumes, Hyper-V VMs, or even SQL Server Database backups to Azure recently, you might be one of those that realized the actual problem. Some customers found that data sources larger than 850 GB would fail to transfer. 850 GB might seem like a pretty large data source, but if you've worked with on-premises data long enough, you know it's not the norm but also not unheard of, particularly for large environments.

Microsoft has now released a hotfix to address the limitation, increasing the data source limit to 1.65 TB.

You can download the hotfix from here: Article ID: 2989574

The hotfix works for Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, and Windows Server 2012 R2 running System Center 2012 Data Protection Manager.
