Real Estate Firm, Comshare to Develop Web-Based System

Jones Lang LaSalle , a leading real estate services and investment management firm, selected Comshare to develop a fully integrated Web-based management planning and control system. Running on Microsoft SQL Server 7, the system will leverage existing tools, including the general ledger, fee forecasting, and personnel systems. More than 400 cost center mangers around Europe will use the system to review actual departmental results for given periods, update current-year forecasts, and input the next year’s budgets.

Users can view all relevant financial information with Comshare’s advanced visualization techniques and intuitive topic-driven interface. “During the selection process, … Comshare scored highly on its ease of use, intuitive topic-driven Web interface, rich functionality, and support for Microsoft SQL Server 7,” said Andrew Stoneman, Jones Lang LaSalle’s European finance director.

Currently, most European operating companies expend a lot of time and effort using paper-based forms to collect and consolidate data, rather than reviewing the data for accuracy, credibility, and analysis. According to Stoneman, Jones Lang LaSalle expects Comshare to eliminate most of the mechanical processes, allowing the finance team to disseminate actual results to departmental managers on a more timely basis.
