Web Services Integrated in DocuWare 5.1

DocuWare announced DocuWare 5.1, its latest Web services solution based on SOA. An open-platform architecture of the new DocuWare 5 product, generation is 100% compatible with the philosophy of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and guarantees a high level of scalability and system stability. In addition to top performance using load balancing, version 5.1 also offers Web services for communicating with a range of third-party applications. Web services enable .NET-based DocuWare servers to interact easily with numerous applications from Java and Windows environments.

No knowledge of server platform implementation is required to access DocuWare servers via Web services. The new DocuWare Web services are designed to support even the most complex requirements of a business process. Aside from storing and retrieving documents within a workflow, this also includes editing index terms and adding electronic stamps. Compatible Web services are provided for connecting to a Java client; session Web services are in place for integrating a .NET client. These can also communicate with Microsoft s BizTalk server, allowing data and documents to be exchanged between applications without the need for customization.

DocuWare Web services run on a separate application server. Speed is achieved through efficient coding and the scalability of background services, including the Web Services server.

DocuWare products are designed to be easy to install, configure, and maintain. DocuWare is an integrated document management solution that can automate business processes by managing any type of document, regardless of format or source, in a central document pool; for example, paper records, letters, faxes, drawings, and PC and other electronic files (including e-mail). DocuWare supports all forms of electronic signatures. Integrated records management ensures that all access is secure, controlled, and logged.

Using the Internet, the central document pool is available around the clock to any authorized user, no matter where they are located in the world. A range of customizable DocuWare add-on modules equip DocuWare for, among other things, automatic indexing, COLD applications, and enhanced workflow features. Other software applications are easily integrated with a set of standard tools. Numerous interfaces exist for ERP systems (including a certified SAP interface) and Groupware (like Exchange or Lotus Notes/Domino). DocuWare incorporates all components needed for powerful Enterprise Content Management. Processes in every company can be automated and improved with DocuWare. DocuWare software is available in 13 languages.

Enhanced with workflow functionalities, Web Content Management, and universal integration functions, DocuWare provides powerful Enterprise Content Management (ECM) functionality for enabling expansion throughout an organization.
