This speaker highlight is Steve Rachui.

Steve's IT/Dev Connection sessions:

Recently, we asked Steve to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:

ITDC: Give us a brief introduction to you.

Steve: Hi, I’m Steve.  I’ve been around Microsoft for 17 years supporting the various iterations of ConfigMgr.  I have a real passion for teaching and helping others so my role in support fits really well.  I’m also probably the tallest ConfigMgr support resource at Microsoft.  If you see a 6’8” guy talking about ConfigMgr you have probably found me!

ITDC: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.

Steve: Troubleshooting ConfigMgr and Intune – Deep Dive - The mobile world continues to be a key area of focus for IT.  I talk to customers frequently tasked with managing mobile devices either through Intune standalone or ConfigMgr hybrid.  Managing from the available UI options is fairly straight forward in most cases but understanding how the mechanics work to deliver the configuration payload to Intune (in the case of ConfigMgr hybrid) and how to troubleshoot/partner with support when things go wrong is not as familiar.  In this session I will address some of these challenges and bring understanding to the process.  Working with MDM in Windows 10 specifically is also a topic of interest and a place we will spend some time during the session.

Content, content, OH where art thou? - Content is required for most everything in ConfigMgr.  Knowing how the ConfigMgr client looks up the content and understanding the various configuration options and their impact is hugely important for the ConfigMgr admin.  There are also some new content lookup methods introduced in the recent builds of current branch that can be game changers for management.  This session will explore all of this.

ITDC: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?

Steve: Attendees will come away with a better understanding of both topics and will have an opportunity to see some of the details around how things actually work in the product.

ITDC: What is your primary reason to be excited about IT/Dev Connections?

Steve: Vegas baby!  Seriously though, IT/Dev Connections is a collection of some of the most well-known and connected individuals in the industry.  Interacting with and learning from their experiences has huge value.

ITDC: What is the one key technology you believe is changing the technology industry right now?

Steve: HoloLens

ITDC: Assuming attendees want to know, what’s your favorite, non-technical hobby or pastime? What’s one thing that totally irks you.

Steve: I love being outdoors and really enjoy apologetics.  Don’t know what that is?  Ask me!  Poor customer service is at least one thing that really irks me!
