Iron Speed Upgrades Its Iron Speed Designer Web 2.0 App Generator
Iron Speed, a maker of software development tools, released Iron Speed Designer 6.1, the latest version of its web 2.0 .NET application generator. A highlight of the new version is source control file detection, which enables detection of files that may be under source code control and alerts you to check them out before regenerating your application. This new feature enables multiple team members to collectively work on the same project, thereby improving team productivity.
Version 6.1 also features a new improved code-generation algorithm, which updates fewer code files and stored procedures. This reduces contention between team members because there are fewer files to check out, compile, and check back into your source-control system.
Additional new features include support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) and 64-bit DLLs so that generated applications can run on both 32-bit and 64-bit machines, and application users can also view multilevel menus and other controls in their IE8 browser seamlessly. Iron Speed Designer 6.1 also includes enhancements to the page layout editor, including customizable row style attributes, vertical and horizontal cell alignment, and new right-click menu commands that help make the page layout editor intuitive.
Iron Speed Designer 6.1 runs on Windows Vista and XP, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server. It generates .NET web applications for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access, and MySQL, which can be deployed on any machine running Microsoft .NET Framework.
