emagiC CMS.Net v4.0 Released

emagiC CMS.Net v4.0 Released

Emagine announced a new version of its Web Content Management and Web Application Framework, emagiC CMS.Net. A framework for building and maintaining Internet, intranet, extranet, and portal Web sites, version 4.0 now includes connectors for Microsoft Office and Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server. Emagine also has partnered with Intesi Group (http://www.intesigroup.com) for the integration of eID (Electronic IDentity Card) authentication and real-time identity card verification. The new version includes support for high-traffic Web sites based on a load balancing system.

The Microsoft Office connector lets you view and edit documents, stored in the emagiC CMS.Net document library, directly from within Office. There s no need to enter the emagiC CMS.Net administration interface, download the document, make changes, and upload it again to the server simply open Office and connect to the emagiC CMS.Net document library.

The emagiC CMS.Net SharePoint connector adds the possibility to display content from Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server in the emagiC CMS.Net Web site. SharePoint lists can be added to any page in emagiC CMS.Net. As with any emagiC CMS.Net module, you control the information you want to be displayed and the way you want it to be displayed. The SharePoint connector uses SharePoint Web Services, so security settings defined in SharePoint will apply to the credentials specified for the SharePoint connector.

emagiC CMS.Net v4.0 adds two new modules with integrated eID authentication. The first module is based on the middleware software of the Belgian Government. You can log in to the extranet or the administration interface using the Belgian eID card. The module can be configured for real-time validation of the identity card. The second module is based on eID technology from Intesi Group Belgium (PKSuite). When logged in through eID authentication, PKSuite takes care of all security issues related to the identity card (real-time verification through government services). The integration of eID technology and Emagine s collaboration with Intesi Group Belgium opens the way for future e-Government extensions. The technology is currently only available for Belgian eID cards, but will be extended to other countries in the near future.
