The company will issue eight bulletins in next week’s batch of security updates, where this is the first Patch Tuesday since the end of Windows XP support.

Out of the eight bulletins, two of the bulletins pertain to the security threat for IE and SharePoint Server, which are labelled as “critical.” The remaining six bulletins are marked as less severe by Microsoft. Bulletins 3 and 8 address a security by pass vulnerability in Microsoft Office 2007 and later, and bulletins 4 through 7 addresses a security flaw for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003 and later versions.
