Windows IT Pro guru joins Microsoft for UK SharePoint Summit '09

Hayes, Middlesex, is the place to be for SharePoint specialists in spring when Windows IT Pro teams up with Microsoft to present an action-packed one-day conference and expo. SharePoint Summit '09 touches down at the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotel on Thursday, May 7.

Star of the show will be Hawaii-based guru Dan Holme who will be returning to the UK after the success of his Scoring with SharePoint conference in Manchester back in November. As well as being a Microsoft MVP, Holme is a contributing editor to Windows IT Pro magazine and runs his own SharePoint-oriented consultancy.

It was his consultancy work for U.S. TV network NBC at last summer's Beijing Olympics that provides the backdrop to his keynote presentation, "SharePoint Takes the Gold". A refreshing take on the "SharePoint Wheel," Holme will explain which SharePoint scenarios are well-supported out of the box and which are more complex to implement. SharePoint is not a silver bullet, he will point out, so third-party plug-ins and other solutions will be discussed throughout the day.

Holme's other seminars will include sessions on how to implement SharePoint governance, key administration skills and practical, code-free business solutions that address collaboration, business process automation, search, and integration with Office 2007. The latter session will focus the types of solutions that deliver maximum value with minimum effort. Modules will include document libraries, SharePoint Designer workflows and custom list forms and Outlook integration.

Registration for the UK SharePoint Summit '09 costs just £49 (GBP). For the full agenda, further details and registration, see the SharePoint Summit '09 website. Every delegate receives a free 12 month digital subscription to Windows IT Pro, worth £39 (GBP).
