Open Source and Higher Education

While this is only tagentially related to security it is very interesting and worth the read nevertheless: Head over to Inside Higher Ed (online source for news, opinion and jobs for all of higher education) and read the synopsis, "Changing the Report, After the Vote," which reveals how some people just do not like the thought of open source regardless of the benefits its brings to us all, including great software such as Snort, Wireshark, Netcat, John the Ripper, OpenSSH, etc
