Microsoft's Security Compliance Manager Updated to Version 4.0

Microsoft's Security Compliance Manager Updated to Version 4.0

Now supports Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Windows Server 2016

Managing and configuring computers on your network can be a time consuming task so it is a good thing that Microsoft provides solids utilities to help admins and IT Pros with that task.

With the upcoming release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which we wrote about here on IT Pro: Windows earlier this week, it is important that those utilities are ready to support the latest versions of Windows.

The Security Compliance Manager (SCM) is one of those utilities from Microsoft and this week Microsoft released version 4.0 (130MB download) of that tool to integrate support for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Windows Server 2016.

The SCM also maintains its backwards compatibility with previously released and supported versions of Windows, Windows Server and Microsoft Office. The settings in SCM are based on Microsoft's Recommended Security Baselines and best practices across the IT industry.

Of course, like any update these days, there are also bug fixes and performance tweaks in this update as well.

But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.
