- Microsoft Media Services 4.0 and 4.1
By sending specifically crafted requests to the server, a denial of service attack can be launched against the server 's Unicast Service. Multicast and other sessions within the Media Services would remain unaffected.
To recover, the Unicast Service must be restarted.
VENDOR RESPONSE
Microsoft is aware of this problem and has issued FAQ #FQ00-064, Support Online article Q273014, and a patch to correct this matter.
