Infonetics Projects Massive Growth for Wireless and Security

Infonetics Research said that it expects to see considerable growth in both wireless solutions and security solutions between 2003 and 2007.

 

The company conducted interviews with 240 network managers at small, medium, and large organizations that either now use or plan to use wireless LAN technologies in the next year. Based on the studies, Infonetics expects wireless technology to grow by 97 percent, with north American market spending growing from $1.49 billion to $2.94 billion by 2007.

 

Based on studies of 225 European companies, Infonetics expects European spending on security and VPN technology to grow from $10.7 billion to $18.1 billion by 2007. Infonetics said that worldwide expenditure will grow from $25.3 billion to $35.8 billion. The company also said that worldwide security-service expenditure will grow from $5.2 billion to $9.2 billion by 2007.
