I can't access the information in memory.dmp as a normal user.

A. As of Windows NT service pack 4 for Windows NT 4.0 and all versions of Windows 2000 memory.dmp is now created with an ACL of:

Administrators - Full Control
System - Full Control

Other users may not access the file. Pre-service pack 4 the file was created with the same permissions as the parent directory but the memory dump may have sensitive information so its access has now been restricted. If you wish to access the file logon as an Administrator.
