This post has nothing to do with security, unless you consider that the Web has led to a multi-billion dollar industry in Web-related security products. Even so, this is just some neat trivia.
You've probably seen some of the comedic Web pages that profess to be the last page of the Internet--these probably started based on a TV commercial regarding broadband access.
OK, so there is no real last page of the Internet, but there is in fact a first page. The site that originally hosted the first Internet-accessible Web page is no longer available. Nevertheless there is a mirrored copy of that page that you can have a look at. It's very plain, has no graphics, uses uniform fonts and text sizes, and it probably reminds you of some of the first pages that you ever created--assuming of course that you were working with HTML in the early days of the Internet.
