Code Green Networks announced the release of a CI-750 content inspection appliance for small businesses and branch offices. The appliance helps prevent leakage of sensitive data and works over a variety of network protocols, including SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP.
Because the appliance can work over standard Web transport protocols, it helps protect against sensitive data being posted to blogs, wikis, Web forums, and even Web-based mail services such as Gmail, Hotmail, Windows Live Mail, AOL mail, and Yahoo! Mail.
A spokesperson for Code Green Networks said that the average cost of a data breach now exceeds $100 dollars per customer record and over $1 million dollars per incident, according to The Ponemon Institute.
The appliance, which is designed for 250 or fewer users and is priced starting at $10,000, can also monitor and record sensitive information transmission or block such transmission using third-party proxy server solutions. The appliance can also be configured to automatically encrypt authorized data transmissions that contain sensitive data. Code Green Network also offers a higher end appliance that can handle up to 5000 users.
