More Microsoft Apps in More Places – by Default

Microsoft today has announced an expanded, wide-ranging agreement with OEMs to deliver Microsoft apps preinstalled on devices running a multitude of platforms.

First up, Microsoft and Samsung have expanded its earlier agreement. Currently, Samsung is set to pre-install OneNote, OneDrive and Skype on the new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge devices. But, today the two have agreed to also deliver pre-installed versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive and Skype on select Samsung Android tablets sometime in very near future. Additionally, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge users get 100 GB of additional free cloud storage for two years in OneDrive.

In addition to the expanded Samsung agreement, the apps, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and Skype will be provided on additional Android devices later this year for Dell, TrekStor, JP Sa Couto, Datamatic, DEXP, Hipstreet, QMobile, Techno, Casper, and Pegatron.
