Lumension Security recently conducted a survey that highlights current top security concerns. Cybercrime and outsourcing topped the list: More than 75 percent of the security professionals polled cited cybercrime as a major issue, whereas 50 percent of IT professionals noted that outsourcing is creating new and serious risks within organizations. Additional threats include the inability of IT departments to secure data given such trends as increased employee mobility, a shift toward virtualization, and—most recently—the focus on cloud computing.
