Cell Switch Rule Goes Nationwide

Last November, cell phone users in the largest US metropolitan areas attained the ability to switch cell phone carriers but keep their phone numbers. This week, the service has been extended to the rest of the country, including small cities and rural areas. The new rule, which the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) instituted, is expected to result in a surge of cell phone service changes, as millions of Americans take advantage of the change.
