According to Microsoft, one area they get a lot of feedback on from developers is the analytic tools the company provides through their Microsoft Developer Center.
In the past, Microsoft required developers to use Visual Studio Application Insights to measure the activities around their apps performance in the Windows Store.
Now, thanks to recent changes they have made in transitioning app insights from Application Insights to HockeyApp, they can now offer new analytics to provide developers data on how users on Windows 10 are using their apps.
The new report is available on the main page of the Microsoft Developer Center dashboard in each developers account and provides information about:
- User Sessions
- Active Users
- Summaries by Market
- Summaries by Package Version
Another analytics report that has been overhauled in the Microsoft Dev Center is the life to date reports which now allows you to view lifetime related data about the acquisition of your apps instead of just restricted time frames.
Soon Microsoft will also add lifetime reporting about any In App Purchases/Products (IAP) you provide to your users as well.
