BMC Software has formed a new business unit to focus on distributed database management. The new DataOne unit delivers BMC’s SQL Server-compatible DataOne solutions, support, and services. DataOne solutions include tools for SQL development, change management, performance monitoring and tuning, maintenance optimization, and backup and recovery. “The DataOne solutions have a common look and feel with a Web interface, allowing data professionals to remotely manage their databases via the Web,” said Joyce Durst, BMC’s vice president of the DataOne unit.
