Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Delivery Date: May 2010

Microsoft sends word that it intends to deliver SQL Server 2008 R2 to customers by May 2010:

SQL Server 2008 R2 now has an official delivery date—the product will be generally available by May and listed on the May price list.

SQL Server 2008 R2 showcases Microsoft’s continued commitment to mission-critical workloads and has been well-received by the community with more than 150,000 downloads. Key customer benefits include a trusted and scalable platform, IT and developer efficiency, and managed self-service business intelligence.

Customers with Software Assurance can upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 and take advantage of the new features without incurring additional licensing costs.
