Outlook: Highlighting an Email Message in Color

Can I color a message in the Inbox list to make the message stand out?

Color-coding in the Inbox or any other table view depends on the folder's automatic formatting rules. As with Rules Wizard rules, formatting rules look for a particular condition on an item, then change the item's formatting. For example, Outlook has a built-in rule to color red all items flagged for follow-up that are past their due date. Therefore, you can right-click an item, select Flag for Follow-up, then type yesterday for the due date and click OK. The item will automatically turn red. If you want to create your own automatic formatting rules, you can either click Organize on the Outlook toolbar or select View, Current View, Customize Current View, Automatic Formatting.
