On October 4, Microsoft issued a third public update for Outlook 2002. With the latest update, Outlook will warn users when Personal Folders (PST) files and offline folders (OST) files approach the 2GB size limit. (In the past, Outlook users whose PST and OST files grew too large were surprised to learn that they could no longer access those files.) The update also fixes various other problems, including some that Office XP's new error reporting tool pinpointed. Administrators need to follow detailed instructions to install the update on their server-based installation point. For more information, see Microsoft article Q300551.
