Microsoft Unveils Roadmap - A Cloud for Global Good

After a very busy week in Atlanta for their annual Ignite conference, leaders from Microsoft are now over in Europe to talk about the cloud during a four day visit and they have brought along with them a new book to promote A roadmap to a trusted, responsible, and inclusive cloud.

The companies CEO, Satya Nadella, and President and Chief Legal Officer Brad Smith revealed details of this effort, including new data centers that will arrive in France next year, while in Dublin, Ireland.

“We continue to invest heavily in cloud infrastructure to meet the growing demand from European customers and partners,” said Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft. “Building a global, trusted, intelligent cloud platform is core to our mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. There’s never been a better time for organizations across Europe to seize new growth and opportunity with the Microsoft Cloud.”

Of course, kicking off this tour of Europe in Ireland is quite significant because that country hosts information in data centers that US courts attempted to gain access to through the legal system but ultimately was blocked from ordering Microsoft to hand it over.

You can access the entire five chapter book on the web and it is broken down into the following areas:

  • Introduction: Creating a trusted, responsible, and inclusive cloud
  • A technology revolution for all
  • Policy considerations and recommendations
  • Digital transformation in action
  • Microsoft's commitment to a trusted, responsible, and inclusive cloud
  • Conclusion: Working together to create a cloud for global good

After revealing so many new cloud related capabilities at Microsoft Ignite last week plus their newly unveiled Artificial intelligence capabilities, Microsoft is looking to continue to use their cloud for good right alongside of their use of it as a very successful business.

But, wait...there's probably more so be sure to follow me on Twitter and Google+.
