How Is a Public Reserved IP Assigned to a Specific VM in Azure?

Find out what is possible with reserved VIPs and instance-level public IP addresses.

Q. How do I assign a reserved Public IP to a specific VM?

A. This is not possible. Reserved Public IPs can only be assigned to a cloud service Virtual IP (VIP) in the Azure Service Manager (ASM) or a load balancer in the Azure Resource Manager (ARM). An instance-level Public IP address where a public IP is assigned directly to a VM does not support the use of a reserved PIP.
