Windows Update Web Site Contains New Patches and Fixes

If you haven't looked at Microsoft's Windows Update Web site recently, it's time you did. The site has a bunch of new downloads, including patches for security problems in Internet Explorer (IE), the 128-bit encryption pack, and the Windows Virtual Machine (VM), and a new compatibility update that fixes problems with 21 applications. Click here for the latest patches. (You must be logged on with administrative privileges.)

Unfortunately, no patch is available yet for the flaw in Outlook 2000 that allowed the "ILOVEYOU" virus to spread so quickly. Microsoft is working on a fix, and you can find details here. I'll report when the patch becomes available.
