Why does RRAS ignore my dial-on-demand settings?

A. A problem exists with RRAS that requires that you restart RRAS before changes to DNS server settings take effect. To restart RRAS, perform the following steps:

Start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Routing and Remote Access snap-in (Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Routing and Remote Access).
Right-click the server, and from the All Tasks context menu, select Restart.
Close the MMC snap-in.

You can also restart RRAS from the command line:

C:\> net stop remoteaccess
C:\> net start remoteaccess
