Why does my cursor behave erratically and my computer hang?

A. You might experience this behavior if you've configured your BIOS processor to use write-through caching instead of write-back caching. You'll need to review your computer manual to determine how to modify this setting.

Write-through caching writes data to the main memory at the same time your system caches the data, and write-back caching writes data to the main memory only when the system forces data out of the cache. Write-back caching generally provides better performance because it requires fewer write operations to main memory.
