Sometimes when I run a program or Control Panel applet it says "no disk in drive a:".

A. It is possible the NT path statement has an "a:" included. Check the following

  • Registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\WinntPath
  • Registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\Path
  • Control Panel - System - Environment - the global and user path statements
  • Autoexec.bat
  • %systemroot%/system32/Autoexec.nt
