Set-Top Box Fun

Watch out Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony: An established player from the cable-TV market is coming to town. Scientific-Atlanta, one of the major cable set-top providers in the United States, has announced plans to add high-performance video game technology to future boxes that could easily compete with game consoles. Games are already being created for the company's current set-top box platform, but new technology will bring the company's products to a level similar to that of today's video game consoles. Scientific-Atlanta wants to be in the game market, and the company's wide distribution with cable providers could give it an edge.
