Q. I'm trying to use VMware vSphere Web Access, but I get a 503 Service Unavailable error. What's wrong?

A. This behavior is because the vmware-webAccess service isn't started by default. To start it, go to the ESX console, press Alt-F1, and log in. (To get back to the default ESX screen press Alt-F11.) Type the command

service vmware-webAccess start

To make the service start automatically at each ESX reboot, type the command

chkconfig -level 3 vmware-webAccess on
