A. The new Core Parking feature in Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 places cores that aren't needed into a sleep state, saving power (and therefore money). There's no direct Group Policy setting to control core parking—enabling core parking is set via the power management scheme. If you use the balanced power scheme, core parking is enabled. If you use the high performance scheme, core parking is disabled.
