Q. How can I stop the Failover Cluster network name resource from trying to register in DNS?

A. To stop the network name resource from trying to register in DNS, you must disable DNS registration on the network adapters where DNS registration occurs on the cluster hosts. Make sure you've manually created a host record for the cluster network name that points to the cluster IP address. Update accordingly if changes are made to the IP configuration. Note that by disabling the DNS registration, no A/AAAA/PTR records will be created, regardless of the PublishPTRRecords private property value that normally helps control the registration of PTR records.
