Q. How can I enable sound in Windows Server 2003?

If you have the appropriate drives installed, sound should work in Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, but it is disabled by default in Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.

To enable sound in Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition:

1. Open a CMD.EXE window.

2. Type the following command and press Enter:

REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AudioSrv /V Start /T REG_DWORD /F /D 2

3. Shutdown and restart you computer.
