Q. Does Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) 2 support Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) for authentication?

A. ADFS 1 supported Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and AD LDS for authentication purposes, but ADFS 2 only supports AD DS. AD LDS can still be used as an attribute store to help populate the claims in the SAML tokens, but not for the account store.
