A. Unlike Hyper-V, which can't map USB devices, Windows Virtual PC lets you map USB devices from the host into a guest VM that has the integration features installed and enabled. Supported USB devices include printers, scanners, flash memory, external hard disks, digital cameras, and many other types of devices. USB support is important for Windows Virtual PC, which is aimed as an environment for running legacy applications, many of which would likely need USB access.
To attach a USB device from the host to the VM, select the device from the USB menu and select Attach. The device will be removed from the host and be available in the guest VM. When you want to remove the device, select Detach from the USB menu for the device.
