Q. Can the new Intel Oak Trail processors support 64-bit OSs?

A. The Oak Trail is Intel's new generation of the Atom processor, officially known as the Z670 series. It's still an x86-based processor, so it can't run a 64-bit OS. However, the Z6xx series processor can only support up to 2GB of memory, so a 64-bit OS would be much of an advantage anyway—typically you want a 64-bit OS to address more than 4GB of memory.
