Print sophisticated handouts and notes by exporting to Word

While PowerPoint's notes and handout master give you extensive control over the formatting and printing of notes and handouts, PowerPoint is, in the end, not the specialist in printed documentation within the Microsoft Office System. Microsoft Word is.

You can export a presentation to Word and leverage Word's sophisticated formatting and document management capabilities to create the perfect handouts.

  1. Choose File → Send To ? Microsoft Office Word.
  2. Make your selection from the Send To Microsoft Office Word dialog box.

If your notes are too long to fit on one page underneath or next to a slide, you will not be able to successfully print handouts using PowerPoint. Send the presentation to Word and choose the option, Notes below slides. Because Word understands multiple-page documents, the extra notes will simply flow to the next page.
