Patch Prevents Logins from Acquiring Unauthorized Rights

Microsoft reports that logins that use the SQL Server Authentication (Standard) security mode might be allowed rights that the login wouldn't normally have. The logins can acquire the new rights when they use a particular query method to access data from an OLE DB data source. To avoid this security problem, download the SQL Server 2000 Cached Connection Patch at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=193ed9da-0cf5-474e-bfc4-e1903c566874&displaylang=en .
