Last week while I was in San Francisco for Build 2016, I had the opportunity to meet with the team behind the NexDock IndieGoGo campaign.
I was the first backer of this project when it launched nearly two months ago so I have been keeping a very close eye on its progress.
After getting some hands on time with a working model in San Francisco, I was even more convinced that this was going to be a great extension of not only the Windows 10 Mobile Continuum feature but a solid method to get small form factor devices such as Raspberry Pi, PC on a Stick and other similar units on to a portable screen.
When I sat down with the team last week they had 1,858 backers and were sitting at nearly $244,000 dollars raised. In the last 10 days they have added 357 backers and over $56,000 dollars to reach their fixed funding goal of $300,000 dollars.
This means they can now move ahead with the manufacturing phase of the project and ultimately their scheduled shipping date in June.
Congrats to the NexDock team for reaching this significant milestone in the life of the project.
If you ordered one of these devices let us know why you opted into giving it a shot in the comments below.
P.S. You can still support the campaign and get your own NexDock if you were waiting for it to reach its funding goal.
