To move files to open folders or running applications, I’ve tried dragging the files from Windows Explorer and dropping them on the folder’s or application’s icon in the Windows 2000 taskbar. This doesn’t work for me. Any trick for moving files this way?

A. Win2K doesn’t support the method you describe. However, when you drag a file or other object onto a taskbar icon and hover over the icon for a second or two, the related folder or application window will open, and you can then drop the item into that window. (Of course, the applicability of this tip depends on the application in question and whether it supports drag-and-drop operations.)
