Modifying animation

You can use the Custom Animation task pane to edit the of animations for objects.

Animations are numbered in the order that they are created. You can change the sequence of elements using the re-order arrow buttons.

Alternatively, you can drag items up and down the list to change their order.

You can change several of the basic properties of the animation effect using the Start, Direction, and Speed drop-down lists on the task pane.

To see all of your options, and exercise full control over the animation effect, click the drop-down list on the effect itself. Each effect has its own collection of options, including such characteristics as the direction and speed of the effect.

To change whether items appear automatically, or on a mouse click:

  1. In the Animation task pane, select the animation element you wish to change.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow for the element from the dropdown menu for the element. You can start the animation on a mouse click (the default), with the previous element, or after the previous element. For more control, choose Timing Options and you can configure a delay or a trigger event.

To modify animation options:

  1. Click the dropdown menu for the element in the task pane.
  2. Select Effect Options.
  3. Set the options.
  4. Click OK.

Some objects are animated as a group. In such situations, you will see a grouping beneath the first element in the group. Click the group bar and you can configure each element of the group separately.

In the drop down menu for each animation in the task pane, you can also choose to Show/Hide Advanced Timeline. This timeline, which appears at the bottom of the task pane, will display the approximate length of time an animation will take.
