Microsoft Releases Cumulative IE Patch - 18 Dec 2001

Microsoft released a new patch that fixes all known security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer (IE) 6.0 and IE 5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2), including two new vulnerabilities that could make it easy for a malicious sender to get a user to open a dangerous attachment from an HTML mail message. The new patch supersedes the November 13 MS01-055 cumulative patch. (Microsoft is no longer issuing new security patches for earlier versions of Internet Explorer.)
