Microsoft Points Be Gone: The Xbox 360 Transition

As promised, Microsoft today began the process of officially retiring Microsoft Points. I've not seen the change in the Zune PC software (at least not yet), but here's the experience you'll see on the Xbox 360 when you go to make a purchase and have had Microsoft Points associated with your account.

Knowing that this change was coming, I triggered a movie purchase on the Xbox 360 today. If you don't have any Microsoft Points associated with your account, it just goes straight to the new currency-based purchased screen. But if you do, you'll see something like the following....
