The Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640XL will finally become more widely available here in the US within the next 2-3 weeks.
Last month Rod had the opportunity to take a closer look at the Microsoft Lumia 640 as the handset arrived in the US for the first time on the Cricket network.
We have known for sometime that the 640's big brother, the Microsoft Lumia 640XL, would be coming to AT&T here in the US at some point. However, the product page on the AT&T website continues to indicate it is coming soon with no further indication of its availability.
Well it appears that both the Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640XL will be available through AT&T this month.
While attending a local Microsoft sponsored event I had my first opportunity to take a quick look at these two devices and discuss them with the Lumia rep working the product table.
It was during this conversation that I learned the two phones would be arriving this month on AT&T.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 will be available first, possibly within the next week, and cost in the low to mid $100 dollar range. The Microsoft Lumia 640XL will arrive by the end of June and cost approximately $100 more than its sibling.
Those prices are for unlocked versions of the devices which is a very good deal anywhere in those price ranges.
I have reached out to Microsoft to ask for further information on these details and will update this article with anything I hear back.
Update: This is the reply I received from a Microsoft spokesperson - “We do not have anything to share at this time.”
