Microsoft Joins the Mile-High Revenue Club

Nosing through Microsoft’s Washington State tax breaks, tech consultant Jeff Reifman recently uncovered a factoid that is interesting and meaningful. According to Jeff’s research, Microsoft recently surmounted $1 trillion in cumulative revenues.

If not for Jeff, the milestone would have gone unnoticed and yet it’s a significant event, which should be reason for celebration for Microsoft. Jeff thinks that Microsoft may have allowed the accomplishment to silently pass due to increased public scrutiny for holding $108.3 billion in earnings offshore (an incredible 41% of its all-time profit) and its history of tax dodging at home in Washington State.

Additional research concluded that while Apple surpassed $1 trillion mark in 2015, the profit numbers weigh on Microsoft’s side with Apple’s cumulatively earned only $261.6 billion in profit to Microsoft’s $265.2 billion.
