The amazing 41 megapixel PureView camera in the Lumia 1020 is obviously that device’s key differentiator. But it becomes very clear why that camera is such a big deal when you compare it to the camera in other smart phones. And this case, a picture really is worth a thousand words.
So let me show you the picture.
What you see there is the Lumia 1020 camera modules on the top and the Lumia 720 camera on the bottom. Now I’ve used a Lumia 720 and as I noted in my review, I’m sort of astonished by the high quality of the photos it takes. With the understanding that bigger does not always map directly to better, the 1020 camera is clearly better. And that physical size difference is only part of it.
